How the Supply Chain is Impacting Truck Dealerships

Staying Ahead of the Supply Chain

2021 was a tough year for all things supply chain related. As we look ahead, we continue to see shortages and delays in availability for truck parts, impacting new truck availability, parts availability, and in some cases service turnaround times.

At Kenworth Northeast, we’re doing everything possible to help our customers through these challenges. If you’re in the market for a new truck the first thing to know is build and delivery timelines are not what they used to be. You’ll need to plan on 10-12 months lead time to receive a truck once the order is placed.

If you’re looking for a used truck, give us a call. We’re delivering new trucks regularly which means we’re also taking in trades. If there is not one available today, our salespeople may know of a trade that’s coming in soon.

To manage through limited parts availability, our teams are working diligently to stay ahead of shortages where we can with bulk purchasing so our parts and service departments can stay stocked to meet customer needs.

We’re also working hard to stay in close communication across departments and our network of dealer locations to be sure we are leveraging every internal resource to help customers keep their trucks moving.

It’s been a challenging year, but we’ve learned to be more agile and responsive to the marketplace. We’re grateful to the customers who’ve been through it with us, and we look forward to continually providing the World’s Best® trucks, parts, and service.
